A founding member of ICU, Brian Sanchez (better known to ICU members and the Hip-Hop community as B-Syde) has lent his artistic talents to Ill Crew Universal since its earliest incarnation in 1996. During ICU's humble beginnings, B-Syde was able to visualize and put into art the vision of ICU founder Brian "Dabri" Dillard through ICU's various compilation album covers and other ICU inspired artwork, thus helping to brand the image of ICU that is still recognizable today.
B-Syde's contributions to ICU have not been limited to his artistic expertise. Besides being the pioneering force behind Ill Crew University, B-Syde's writings and spiritual vision can be found in both ICU's Mission Statement and the symbolism behind the ICU Symbol. With his knowledge of Eastern spiritualities and philosophies, comparative religions, and with his deep understanding of the inherent interconnection and oneness of all things, B-Syde helps to provide a deeper spiritual foundation to ICU's social activism by inviting the Hip-Hop community to realize Hip-Hop's greater purpose in society and the world. Through his holistic approach to dealing with society's ills through Hip-Hop's influence and reach, B-Syde contributes his written and spoken word to ICU as a unifying voice of love, peace, compassion and oneness.
Besides his affiliation with ICU, B-Syde is also the founder of the Law of One Society -- a loosely structured, non-denominational, non-hierarchical network of individuals from around the world dedicated to understanding, exemplifying and practicing the universal truth that All is One. B-Syde runs his own graphic design company called DemiGraphics, and is also a professional graphic and web designer, sequential artist, writer, social activist and spiritual advisor.
