Disflex6Disflex6 might be one of the dopest crews to ever emerge from the Bay area. Members consist of Jason The Argonaut & Lazerus Jackson. With extended family of Mercury, Elon.is, Ehnertia & DJ Capsize. When all of them WU up they form the Sunset League, a collective of progressive producers and lyrical wizards. Each member of the Sunset League makes moves on their own and in reconfigured groups like PBS, a politically feroscious combo of Mercury and Lazerus. This musical studio chairs tactic seems to keep the members on top of their individual games.
All of the Sunset League crew originally hail from
the North Bay, Sonoma county area but many of them have dispersed throughout Cali. Distance
has not tainted their chemistry or activity as a group by any means. With all the hype about
the hyphy sound and factionalization of Bay Area Hip Hop Disflex6 have carved their own path
and refuse to be caught up in the drama. Quite simply they make real Hip Hop, without
apology and without the gimmicks that have plagued both the underground and the mainstream.
Disflex6 last joint, Robot Dreams is a prime example of this. Robot Dreams is a concept
album that takes the listener into a world where rappers are robots and the music industry
is one big machine. OH wait, thats what's really happenin'! In any case the lyrical potency
and original production on this gem is a testament of what current Hip Hop can and should be
like!
